Below you’ll find the most common customer service questions faced by students. Use these resources to help solve the issues with your digital course materials.

A – How do I redeem my product code to access my digital course-material product?

Thank you for your purchase of a digital course material product from the campus bookstore. To redeem your digital course material product, follow these steps:

1.       On your in-store card, there is a 12 digit redemption code. This is the code for your product.

2.       Underneath that access code, there are three steps. The first step is to go to www.campusebookstore.com/redeem. Do this next.

3.       After you’ve arrived on the redemption page, select the province or state in which your school/institution is located.

4.       After you’ve chosen the province/state, choose your school.

5.       After you’ve identified your school, enter the 12 digit redemption code on your in-store card into the redemption code field.

6.       Then, enter your email address. After you’ve entered your email address, please tick the box saying that you “understand that this product cannot be returned, refunded, or exchanged once

I complete this redemption process.” Please be certain that: You have purchased the correct product and that you are not planning to drop your course.

7.       If your code is valid, you will be prompted to the “create a password page”. Please note that sometimes the code is not active. If this is the case, please follow the directions at the top of the page and wait 1 hour for the code to be activated. If it has not been activated after this 1 hour, contact your bookstore for assistance - you will need to identify your purchase at this time so bring your receipt (online or paper).

8.       If you’re prompted to create a password, then please do so. It is a unique password which is extremely important in accessing your digital products. It is very important you remember this password as you will need it later in the process.

9.       Voila – your product has now been redeemed.

As well, please note that this is a request; the publisher may decide to deny the request.

10.    View and re-print product instructions for a student, specific to their product.

B – How do I download and view my digital course-material on my windows PC?

After you’ve successfully redeemed your product code, you’re ready to download your digital course-materials. Below are the steps you need to take (in order!) to download and view your products on your PC.

1.       First, after you successfully redeemed your redemption code for your product, you will be presented with three steps to obtain your product.

2.       The first step is to install the required reader software. For Mac and PC users, you must download Adobe Digital Editions reader software. Click on the link under “Step 1” which says “download now for Mac/Windows”

3.       You will then be sent to the Adobe Digital Editions download site. Click on the Windows download link.

4.       After your click the link, you will be prompted to either “run, save, or cancel” the download. Select Run. If the file has automatically downloaded to your PC, it will likely be located in “your downloads” folder. Simply find it, and double click it.

5.       Accept the Adobe Digital Editions Setup License Agreement

6.       Proceed through all the prompts until you see your Adobe Digital Editions Library. You’ve now completed step 1 as directed on the redemption webpage or email you received from your bookstore.

7.       Now we need to activate the reader software. Once in your Digital Editions Library, go to the help menu near the top left corner of the screen and select “authorize computer”.

8.       A window will appear asking you to authorize your computer with 3 options: eBook Vendor, Adobe ID, and Password. Click on the eBook Vendor drop down menu, scroll to the bottom and select “Campus eBookstore”. You’ll notice that the buttons have changed from “Adobe ID and Password” to Vendor ID, and Vendor password”

9.       Enter the email address with which you used to purchase your digital course materials. DO NOT attempt to use any other email address as it will NOT work.

10.   Enter the password you created during the redemption process. Again no other passwords will work.

11.   Click authorize in the bottom right corner of the window.

12.   And there you have it – your computer has been authorized! You have now activated the software and completed the second step.

13.   Now let’s get your product in there. Go back to the product redemption form where you started and click the download link for your digital course-material product. A copy of the instructions and this download link have been sent to your email as well.

14.   Once you have the product downloaded, double click it and it will automatically load itself into your Adobe Digital Editions Library.

That’s it! For any future purchases, you will not need to download the reader software or authorize your PC again so feel free to skip ahead to step 3 in the instructions. Happy Learning!

C - How do I download and view my digital course-material on my Mac computer?

After you’ve successfully redeemed your product code, you’re ready to download your digital course-materials. Below are the steps you need to take (in order!) to download and view your products on your Mac Computer.

1.       First, after you successfully redeemed your redemption code for your product, you will be presented with three steps to obtain your product.

2.       The first step is to install the required reader software. For Mac and PC users, you must download Adobe Digital Editions reader software. Click on the link under “Step 1” which says “download now for Mac/Windows”

3.       You will then be sent to the Adobe Digital Editions download site. Click on the Macintosh download link.

4.       After your click the link, you may be prompted to either “run, save, or cancel” the download, depending on your browser. Select Run. If the file has automatically downloaded to your Mac, it will likely be located in your “downloads” folder or desktop. Simply find it, and double click it.

5.       Accept the Adobe Digital Editions Setup License Agreement

6.       Proceed through all the prompts until you see your Adobe Digital Editions Library. You’ve now completed step 1 as directed on the redemption webpage or email you received from your bookstore.

D - How do I download and view my digital course-material on my Android device?

After you’ve successfully redeemed your product code, you’re ready to download your digital course-materials. Below are the steps you need to take (in order!) to download and view your products on your Android device.

1.       First, after you successfully redeemed your redemption code for your product, you will be presented with three steps to obtain your product. Make sure you are on the device which you want to regularly access your product.

2.       The first step is to install the required reader software. For Android users, you must download the Campus eBookstore eBookshelf app. Tap on the link under “Step 1” which says “Download now for Android”

3.       You will then be sent to the Google Play where you can download and install the reader app. Click on the install button.

4.       After your click the link, you will be prompted to allow eBookshelf to access photos/media/files. Tap “accept”

5.       Allow the app to download and install, then tap the “open” button.

6.       You will then be prompted to accept the End User Licence Agreement. Scroll down and tap “I Accept”.

7.       Proceed through any additional prompts until you see your eBookshelf Library. You’ve now completed step 1 as directed on the redemption webpage or email you received from your bookstore.

8.       Now we need to activate the reader app software. Once in your eBookshelf Library, tap the “settings” button on your device. For this Android device, it’s in the bottom right corner. Once you have it open, tap on “account”

9.       A window will appear asking you to “activate your device” with 2 options: username and password. Enter the email address with which you used to purchase your digital course materials. DO NOT attempt to use any other email address as it will NOT work. Then, enter the password you created during the redemption process. Again no other passwords will work.

10.   Tap the red “activate” button below the password field.

11.   And there you have it – your device has been authorized! You have now activated the reader software and completed the second step.

12.   Now let’s get your product in there. Go back to the product redemption form or email where you started and click the download link for your digital course-material product.

13.   Once you have the product downloaded, a prompt window will appear asking you how to complete the action. Select “eBookshelf”. Note: this is a very important step. Do not use another program.

14.   Your product will now appear in your eBookshelf Library! And that’s it! For any future purchases, you will not need to download the reader software or activate your Android device again so feel free to skip ahead to step 3 in the instructions. Happy Learning!

 

E - How do I download and view my digital course-material on my iOS device?

After you’ve successfully redeemed your product code, you’re ready to download your digital course-materials. Below are the steps you need to take (in order!) to download and view your products on your iOS device (iPhone, iPad). Note that the installation on Macintosh computers is a different process. Please view our support video or FAQ on that topic, entitled “How do I download and view my digital course-material on my Mac computer?”

1.       First, after you successfully redeemed your redemption code for your product, you will be presented with three steps to obtain your product. Make sure you are on the device which you want to regularly access your product.

2.       The first step is to install the required reader software. For iOS users, you must download the Campus eBookstore eBookshelf app. Tap on the link under “Step 1” which says “Download now for iPhone and iPad”

3.       You will then be sent to the Apple AppStore where you can download and install the reader app. Click on the install button. This may look like a little cloud, or an arrow facing downward.

4.       Allow the app to download. When it is complete, tap on the “open” button.

5.       You will then be prompted to accept the End User Licence Agreement. Tap the “Accept” button at the bottom of the window.

6.       Proceed through any additional prompts until you see your eBookshelf Library. You’ve now completed step 1 as directed on the redemption webpage or email you received from your bookstore.

7.       Now we need to activate the reader app software. Once in your eBookshelf Library, tap the “settings” button in the bottom right corner of the app. It looks like a circle with a lower-case “i” in it. Once you have it open, tap on “account”

8.       A window will appear asking you to “activate your device” with 2 options: username and password. Enter the email address with which you used to purchase your digital course materials. DO NOT attempt to use any other email address as it will NOT work. Then, enter the password you created during the redemption process. Again no other passwords will work.

9.       Tap the red “activate” button below the password field.

10.   And there you have it – your device has been activated! You have now activated the reader software and completed the second step.

11.   Now let’s get your product in there. Go back to the product redemption form or email where you started and tap the download link for your digital course-material product.

12.   A prompt window will appear showing you the product you downloaded. In the top right corner of that window is a button which says “Open in eBookshelf”. Tap that button. Note: this is a very important step. Do not use another program.

13.   Your product will now appear in your eBookshelf Library! And that’s it! For any future purchases, you will not need to download the reader software or activate your iOS device again so feel free to skip ahead to step 3 in the instructions. Happy Learning!

F – How do I download and view my digital course-material on a second device (e.g. Windows and Android, Mac and iOS, etc)

It’s possible that you’d like to view your digital course-materials product on multiple devices. This is absolutely possible and rather straightforward. Simply follow the steps in the instructional videos or this FAQ for that device. Just be sure to use the email address you used to make your purchase and the password you created during the redemption process.

G – I received the error message Adobe Reader cannot open 'URLLink.acsm' because it is either not a supported file type or because the file has been damaged (for example, it was sent as an email attachment and wasn't correctly decoded) What do I do?

Thank you for your purchase of a digital course-material product. Some students receive this error message because they are not using the appropriate program to view their digital course-materials.

Please recall that, as it says in the instructions which came with your digital course-materials, to view your product on PC or Mac you must use Adobe Digital Editions; Adobe Digital Editions is often confused with Adobe Reader but Adobe Reader will not work. On occasion, Adobe Reader is set as the “default program” by accident when students first attempt to view their digital course-materials.

After you’ve successfully redeemed your product code, downloaded and activated your reader software (as demonstrated in other videos) and downloaded your digital course-material, the final step is to get that product into Adobe Digital Editions. There are two ways you can open your product in Adobe Digital Editions.

1.       Drag the digital course material file into Adobe Digital Editions OR

2.       Right click the file and select “Open With” and then select “Adobe Digital Editions”

You must use Adobe Digital Editions on PC or Mac to access your digital course-materials.
